Classes begin for the 2011-2012 school year

August 10th is the day marked on Temecula student's and parent's calendars but for very different reasons. School is back in session! The district's calendar was altered this year to allow for a one week Thanksgiving Break, a three week Winter Break and a two week Spring Break. The last day of school will be June 8, 2012. TVUSD is proud to be ranked #1 in Riverside County according to the 2010 Academic Performance Index (API). Each year academic achievement is measured by the based on statewide test results. Scores range from 200 to 1000. Click here for each school's scores. Nine of the district's 30 schools scored in the 900's with 19 more scoring in the 800 range. The district boasts an average growth of eight points.

New this year is a requirement for all students entering the 7th to 12th grades to show verification of receiving the Tdap booster also known as the Whooping Cough Vaccine. Proof of a current Tdap, DTaP or DTP is acceptable but it must have been administered on or after a student's 7th birthday. An "opt-out" exemption waiver is available but a parent must go to their student's school to complete and sign the form.
