Classes begin for the 2011-2012 school year

The calendar still says summer but school is back in session! The countdown is complete to Murrieta Valley Unified School District's first day of school which happened on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Now students are watching the calendar for their first holiday, Labor Day on Sept. 5 and then counting down till their three week Winter Break and their two week Spring Break. MVUSD's motto is "Inspiring every student to think, to learn, to achieve, to care". The district is proud to announce that eleven campuses were named as California Distinguished Schools and that they received an average Academic Performance Index (API) of 837. This is an increase of 11 points. Click here for individual school API scores. MVUSD surpassed the state's goal of 800 and is one of the highest performing districts in Riverside County.

New this year is a requirement for all students entering the 7th to 12th grades to show verification of receiving the Tdap booster also known as the Whooping Cough Vaccine. Proof of a current Tdap, DTaP or DTP is acceptable but it must have been administered on or after a student's 7th birthday. "Get your Tdap - ASAP! No Tdap = No School".
