December is jam-packed with events from the first day of the month to the last day of the year. Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country website lists more than 100 events happening throughout the Valley just in the month of December. There are also many unique season events listed in the City of Temecula Community Services Dep't. Activities Brochure found in paper form in Temecula libraries and businesses around town and on the internet. Many of these activities require preregistration.

Here are a few of the "don't miss" events:

14th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony - The annual event will be held on Dec. 1, at Temecula Duck Pond at the corner of Ynez Rd. & Rancho California Rd. The annual event will include entertainment, food and fun for everyone.

Breakfast with Santa & Santa's Workshop is Dec. 10 at the Community Recreation Center on Rancho Vista Rd. This event requires preregistration to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast with Santa and his helpers. There will be many opportunities for pictures so bring a camera.

Love Christmas Lights but not the hassle of driving around town? Come enjoy the sights and sounds from the Holiday Lights Bus Tour. This tour runs from Dec. 7 to 19. The ride is $5 per person but the bad jokes are free! Buses leave from the Temecula Civic Center. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Grab your skates and meet your friends at the Ice Skating Rink in Old Town Temecula! The rink will be open Dec. 16 to Jan 2. The rink is at the top of Main Street in front of the City Hall. Admission is $10 and skates can be rented for $2.50 for a one-hour sessions. The rink is open daily 10am - 10pm.

Ring in the New Year at one of many New Year's Eve Parties throughout the Valley ranging from family friendly to over 21 only. 2012 is going to be a great year!
